Atlanta Aquarium side trip?

Would you be willing to set up the paypal thing?

I checked PayPal. I can send out money requests and have people pay by credit card. If the group rate is $20.50, with PP fees, it would be $21.45. I don't mind sending it out, if people want to do an official group.

Babs, it's in your hands!

We went on the Monday after our wedding, and we had no problem getting tix and getting pretty much right in. Finding the other folks we were meeting there, however, proved too tall a feat for us. :) I'd say we all enjoyed it--it was definitely worth going once, but once was enough for me.

Ah you are EVIL! I hope to hell this year we're on the same floor at the Granada, because I'm gonna cause all sorts of disturbance for you!

Have a question for you Steve, given the fee and stuff, the price of regular admittance is $22.75 (tax included). So we are prolly going through a lot of hassle for a small amount of savings?

LOL, at the "Babs it's in your hands!" comment. I bet Dub is just dying to put a smart-ass comment up.

This is why I was asking about the odds of a sellout. Don't quote me on it, but I'd think if we got their early on Friday we'd stand a good chance of being able to get a ticket. If that's true then it's not worth the paypal hassle. I guess if anyone is really concerned they can pre-purchase their ticket now. It doesn't seem like the group rate thing is worth the trouble.

Yes, when I spoke to them on the phone yesterday (this was the second time around with someone in corporate) they said they didn't anticipate a problem for us on the Friday being that the schools are back in session.

I agree, getting there early would be good because that way we can avoid hassle and drama!

Anybody planning to go to the new aquarium while down in Atlanta this year? Yardley and I would like to check it out. It's always more fun to go with a group though.

How far is it from the venue area? (too lazy to look it up)

SkiBumMSP and I saw both the aquarium and the CNN Center tour last year. The CNN tour was around an hour. Well worth the tour. Schedule in advance.

But if you can go to the aquarium - by all means DO IT! I want to go back to the aquarium. We found it just by chance by walking through the Olympic Park just north of the CNN Center. We didn't have enough time to see everything - this year I'll make it a point to see all the exhibits. You have GOT to see the large salt water aquarium. That thing is HUGE and you can go UNDER it! :)

We saw the Coke Museum (World of Coca-Cola, I think is its real name) the year before. It was OK, but it primarily is just a big commercial for Coke and its related products. The best part was drinking all the various flavors of soft drinks that they sell worldwide.

In 2007, they should be opening a new World of Coca-Cola near the Georgia Aquarium.

Its a couple of subway (MARTA) stops away from the Center Stage stop. Its a very good system - SkiBumMSP and I used it for the last couple of years. Its $1.75 each way.

Aw, that's sad to hear about the whale sharks.

We went last year and it's definitely worth the trip. I had fun with the touch pool (yes, I'm that much of a kid).

Ooooooh, Atlanta zoo, now that's a stop I haven't done yet. Might have to put that on the itinerary for this year.
