i actually think i have heard about these! fucking amazing and i want to play sometime.

also did you know that there was going to be a movie version of the novel Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and it was going to be directed by Terry Gilliam!

but apparently they had problems getting the proper budget from the studios or something stupid like that.

There are 3 discworld computer games. The first is a pretty old-school third person adventure game that has lots of bugs, the second is the one with Idle (pretty enjoyable) and the third is Diskworld: Noir which I haven't played.

Gilliam has had all sorts of budget problems in the past few years. Have you seen Lost in La Mancha? It seems that everything that could go wrong with a movie did go wrong with "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" and they never finished it. It wasn't poor planning or poor budgeting, just everything went wrong. Of course not have millions to throw around in case of a problem doesn't help.

imo the best gaiman stuff is his other writing although good omens was pretty awesome

smoke & mirrors
american gods
neverwhere
coraline
stardust

so so so sooooooooooo good!

I didn't know about the first discworld game, do you think it's worth looking for?

I don't know about Fitzcarraldo but, Jean Rocheford had a back injury that kept him off the set for the longest time, then it was prostate problems. It rained all the time, even though it was in one of the dryest part of Spain. They had work visas revoked. Have to buy back the script from the insurance company. Troubles with the funding... Producers finally decided to call it quits and minimize the losses.
