Audio Recording Question

UM shitted out on me

okay here's the deal, a buddy of mine is wondering if there is a way to record streaming audio files ... this is probably a rudimentary thing to some of you but the files are not downloadable and I'm curious.

Yeah, there is.

Don't ask more.

What's the format? The easy way is to setup the soundcard in a way, that everything that you can hear gets recorded, but there are programs that downloads those streamed files.

there are special programs for it

but you could set up the likes of soundforge to do it or even the recorder in windows
most soundcards have a recording device too
set the soundcard recording to 'what you hear' and you'll be able to record anything thats playing through your computer, either streams or dvd audio or whatever

a tip: turn off the windows sounds
otherwise you'll hear mouseclicks and bleeps and shit

Dude I totally just recorded a streaming file (Asian porn) for the first time the other night.

Wget didn't work, but WM Recorder did.
