anybody know a program (preferrably free) that you can run against an MP3 or WAV and produce a quick text file of stats on the file?

i'm mostly worried about peaks and how hot the render is. i'm prepping for mastering - and what to keep everything, on average, down around -6db - but also want to see where the song is spiking.

i do a lot of batch renders of 8 or more songs so i don't always see REAPER's output at render time.

thanks.

Don't know about printing a text file but I use this sometimes for checking peaks and so on: http://www.rndigitallabs.com/Plug-ins/Inspector/inspector.html

thanks freddrik, that's pretty cool. i'll give it a try.

i did find this in the default plugs delivered with REAPER. it's called JS:SCHWA /audio statistics. you place it on the MASTER and render and it shows quite a bit, stat-wise, of your audio. unfortunately, no text file for later review.
