Audiophile 2496 Monitor Vs Playback volume discrepancy.

So I purchased an Audiophile 24/96 yesterday and while it's exciting to enter the world of semi-pro audio, I wonder if any other Audiophile users have noticed the following:

Do you guys notice that the Audio you hear while monitoring, seems to be somewhat 3db louder than what you hear, when you playback the recorded audio? How can one achieve the same volume in playback as the one being monitored?

All my faders in the Audiophile software panel are 0db.

You might be direct monitoring as well as monitoring through the software. Try to find the 'Direct Monitoring' option in whatever DAW you're using and make sure it's off.

No, I've checked that in Adobe Audition 2.0

Just monitoring via hardware.

weird, how about the jumpers on the card- would that effect it? I cant say ive ever noticed this though.

yeah but you have a different soundcard

just one of those things man... i always just track a quick bit of audio while getting the sound and atenuate the fader & panning accordingly on the playback channel.... you can do it hyper quick so the client doesn't even notice.

... check the monitoring settings in the driver mixer too
