Australia is the greatest place on earth because...

A guy in my office is in hospital after being stabbed on his way to work this morning. Move here Bev, you'll feel right at home.

Yeah, see I don't actually want to feel at home, I want to feel like I'm somewhere else. :Smug:

In all honesty, I'm not naive, it doesn't matter where in the world you move to it isn't going to be a utopia. But I just find London so depressing now, and it's not a place I would want to be when I'm old. If anything I find it sad that I feel that away about my home town as it does have such wonderful things to offer, but like many Londoners I'm being pushed out by rising costs and ludicrous amounts of immigration (much of it illegal). We're a small island, there's only so many that can be supported comfortably here, but our welfare state is very attractive to people, both native Brits and immigrants alike. As a foreigner I find boguns more amusing than chav. :)

If nothing else, when we move back to Australia we'll have more space, a larger home and better weather. That's not bad I reckon. :)

You'll be fine if you move back here. It's not all bad. :) Weren't you thinking of moving to the Isle of Wight or somewhere like that at some stage?

On another note, I haven't had net access for the last couple of weeks and was expecting to return to loads of posts to read. Where the fuck is everyone?!

I'm on dial-up again as well. Good effort for getting on here from hospital though! Doesn't sound like you've had much fun there.

without my laptop, mum's wireless broadband (damn youtube knocking it down to dail up speed) and my external HD with things to watch on it, the whole experience would be far worse.

also helped that I've had good blokes to share my room with and that helps pass the time
can't read though -always stuff distracting you and such, which is annoying.

most of the day is spent waiting for things, such as my dressing changes.
but if that is taken care of in morning, leaves the rest of the day to do other things

having the occasional visitor helps too

Is the hospital far away from home? How long till the next internet billing month?!

Another thing on Australia is that we seem to get things about 5-10 years after the UK does. Kappa was popular with chavs over there in the late 1990s, then sometime a few years ago all the wogs discovered it here. Similarly, the whole bleached blonde, orange faced tarty look seems to be all the rage with young women here now. Plus the whole WAG thing. It used to be such an English thing, but now the Australian media is disappointing me massively by giving these halfwits the time of day.

Oh man, that sucks. I've had my fill of those sorts, though I have to say they are good for a laugh. Orange faced slappers are ten a penny here, so there's always one around when you need a giggle. :) Isle of Wight is really on the condition that my parents go too, but it's something Mark and I have been talking a bit more about lately. Not rteally enjoying London, but very tied to my job. If that changed though, I'd maybe consider it more carefully.

Shadow - sorry to hear you're in hospital. Get better soon.
