AVENGED SEVENFOLD
AUSTRALIAN CLUB SHOWS CONFIRMED

Avenged Sevenfold have shattered the preconceptions of punk and metal and have trail blazed a bold new path with their foreboding atmosphere, maniacal progressions and downright scalding vocal assaults. They are not to be ignored.

From their debut, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, M.Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates, The Rev & Johnny Christ entered the fray in 1999 crafting a tremendous variation of metalcore, inflecting the traditional metal sound with outrageous bursts of hardcore fury and mesmerizing wails.

A7X (As they are affectionately known to their worldwide legion of fans) have proudly garnered a reputation for their epic party nights and backstage debauchery. Tales of drug induced tour bus orgies and strip club odysseys have reached mythical proportions, conjuring up endless amounts of antic riddled stories associated with legends such as Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Motley Crue, and Guns and Roses. Coupled with this, artwork on City Of Evil that features a skeletal swordsman flying a steed with steaming nostrils over the urban inferno of the title; tattoos, demons, and a skull with flapping wings adorn the lyric book… You can soon see why A7X demand attention.

And attention they have received, with the early 2006 release of their 3rd and most adventurous work to date, City Of Evil. The air guitarists dream features harmony guitar lines that Iron Maiden would be jealous of, solos a certain Mr. E.Van Halen would be chuffed with and the heaviest riffs this side of James Hetfield’s wispy facial hair. Add to this the kind of pomp that not even Spinal Tap would dare try, and you’ve got a killer punk metal album that practically oozes testosterone. One of A7X’s strengths has always been singer M. Shadows' dramatic, gut-wrenching vocals. City Of Evil has no screams whatsoever. With M.Shadow going from raspy to rapturously smooth almost everything on the album is adventurous in spirit, and drama and darkness remains from his powerful vocal punch to thick cascading melodies, from loud and fast to downright epic.

A7X fans have been screaming for a tour for a long time now and with an intimate run of club shows confirmed you can guarantee tickets will be gone fast so prepare your sword and steed as tickets go on sale!

I'm listening to it now. The music is OK, but the vocals shit me. He's got the whole nasal-whiny thing happening. Not as bad as...that Australian band who's name escapes me right now but hopefully it will come to me soon...but still enough to be annoying.

Yeah...

I have no problem with his vocals.
But I can see how some people might.
When I first started listening to them, I didn't think the singer was that great, but now I like his voice and think it really fits the mood.

He used to scream/growl on the earlier albums, but damaged his vocal chord or something so now just sings clean...

Are you listening to City of Evil Phloggy?

Loved it Loved it! as you can see I'm a BIG FAN! And which guitarist are you talkin about?? Anyway if you like 80s screamo then you would love their other cds

He didn't damage his vocals!! :OMG: all he did was go through a minor suragery (however you spell it..) alot of singers get. He knew since before waking the fallen (their album that came before COE) that he didn't want to scream. ( Not being smarty about it)
