Looks like i've been one of the lucky first few to get my hands on a production axe fx II (maybe one of the first in the UK even). Should be here in about 2-3 weeks. Cant wait!
And there will be clips. Lots! First of which being a direct comparison to the 5150 we all know and love.

I just need to get myself a nice poweramp in the meantime!

That rules. I am jealous.

For your 5150 tone test it seams like it would be best if you used the fx return on your 5150 instead of a separate power amp.

+10000

Hard to say what other power amp to get at this point, depends on the accuracy of the power amp modelling on the Axe. If its not that great a nice tube power would be my pick. If its incredible however you'll want a flat frequency response (SS). From what I know anyway...maybe some Axe 1 owners can pit in

Thanks for your comments guys. They've just gone up to $2600 now, ouch. I hate to imagine what it would sell for on fleabay at the moment. Ive got my friend sending me it from the states - clips will be 1st week of July.

You get 400$ off the new price if you join the waiting list. You can then jump the waiting list but you have to pay full price for the Axe II then. Hopefully its not a permanent price hike.

Yikes. I wonder how much it costs to produce one...massive profit being made I think

I believe the same was done for the Ultra, the price will drop back down again once supply and demand are a bit more equal.

With the way things are currently though, that realistically looks like it could be 6 months to a year.

Great stuff kev!

I ordered one months ago from G66 (unintentionally!) - I ordered the standard and then a month later got an email saying the AFII was gonna be released so I'd be on the waiting list for that instead. I should have mine in about 6 weeks. Can't wait.

Do you have any experience with the original Axe-FX (Standard or Ultra)? Just wondering... I honestly don't think there is going to be a noticeable improvement in the sound of the amps or cabs.

I thought Cliff said at some point not that long ago that there wouldn't be any type of waiting lists for the Axe-FX II? Did he change his mind? That price hike is quite high. I think that is an attempt to keep people from buying them and flipping them on ebay....
