Hey everyone, here's a new song I just preproduced/mixed/mastered by In Dying Arms. You really have to hear the whole thing cause theres a lot of parts, and I really like the way it came out but I would like some feedback. I will provide whatever info you want!

how was the beginning vinyl effect achieved?

Literally found a vinyl sound clip online and just put it in there, as for the instruments they're hi/low passed so you can only hear the mids

As for the song, I really love the contrasting elements.
Goes from sounding happy to mean and back again a few times.

Mix sounds really cool too. I feel like it could use a little more clarity though!

And, why the hell did you let the vocalist in Years Since The Storm say: "you're not a man at BREE"?!

That whole song is sick [mix included!], besides that ONE part, which makes me laugh out loud every single time I hear it! Haha.

But to answer your question, the band wanted that part super short, and saying "all" that short sounded way worse than saying bree haha, it was just a little writing flaw

Haha, well it's not necessarily a bad thing. I just think it's really funny so it takes away from the "brutal" aspect of the music a bit.

Agreed, my favourite part too...very emotive song, not something that can often be said about music this heavy.
Listening to "Still Waters", when the very first guitar note was played, for a fleeting second I was expecting to hear Periphery, Icarus Lives haha exact same note! Nice though
