Back from Great Britain

Maidens' Bass
Hello, sorry I have been away~ just got back from Great Britain shortly before our last show and I’m still playing “catch up” with everything.
Great Britain was really cool ~ there is so much to see and do there, I feel like I only experienced the “tip of the iceberg”. Went to London first and saw many famous landmarks (Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, etc.,etc.,) then on to Salisbury (Stonehenge), Bath (Roman Baths), Stratford-Upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s birthplace) followed by Llangollen (Wales) making pitstops (Chester for one) along the way. Scotland (Gretna Green, Edinburgh, Abbotsford) was next, then York (back in England now), Leicestershire (Belvoir Castle) and a pitstop to see Hadrian’s Wall before finally returning to London. It was a great trip and I fit a lot in for only being away 10 days.
On another note, I would have really liked to have met up with our Metallicat when in Scotland but we couldn’t make it happen this time – maybe next time (I plan to go there again – Scotland was lovely). :)

Glad to hear you had fun Wanda. I went to GB a couple of years ago as well and it truely is a wonderful place! Did they let you walk up close to the stones at Stonehenge? I remember when I went they had it all fenced off.

Metallicat why couldn't you get together in Scotland?

Hi Robocaster,
I know your query was addressed to Metallicat but I thought I would go ahead and respond since I also know the answer (I hope that’s okay).
Initially, Metallicat thought that she was scheduled to work the day I was out there (so she wouldn’t have been able to make it) so I signed up to take some tours. However, the day I got there, I got a message at my hotel from her- she didn’t have to work after all. Unfortunately, at that point, I couldn’t get my money back for the tours I had signed up for and was now only available to see her at times that weren’t so convenient (1 hour in the middle of the day or late at night). She actually lives quite a distance from where I was at and would have had to go through a bit of trouble to get there. Hopefully I’ll have another opportunity to see her again soon.

No, it was roped off but that's okay because that will ensure that the stones will be there for others to enjoy in the future. I got to touch some old stones that were Stonehenge-like at the entrance of the park though. Very cool.

Sounds like a blast! Are pics incomming?

I'm still working on getting all my pictures onto CD. Here is a photo of a famous person I saw in Edinburgh: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8Bat2LJq0ZNAC

I took over 500 photos while I was there (photography is a hobby of mine) so I will eventually have to put together an "abridged" photo album to share with you so you don't get bored. :)

Did you feel a different energy at Stonehenge? I have read about the vortex energy at this site and at Sedona in Arizona. Am curious as to whether a person really does sense it.

I'm sure we will. Edinburgh was awesome. I had a killer view of Edinburgh Castle, the Scott Monument, and other parts of historic Scotland from my hotel window. Have you ever went to the top of the Scott Monument? It's a little disconcerting but a thrill at the same time. I'd definitely like to see more of GB so I will be back.
W :)

I didn't but I heard some stories about people who have. I was told that one of the groundskeepers there had actually experienced a wall of energy going through them at a certain point in time. I suppose it's possible since the blue stones there have magnetic qualities, but who knows? No one really knows why Stonehenge was built in the first place - it's still a mystery today.

I know I keep harping on this, but you gotta go to LOCH NESS next time you're in Scotland! I've never been, but it's always been one of my dreams to go there. By the way, without giving too much away, approximately how much would it cost to get over there to England, and or Scotland?

Wanda, sounds like your trip was awesome. What tour company did you go with? My girlfriend and I are planning to go there in late September for about 9-10 days. I've never been there before. Looking for suggestions or recommendations from anybody out there (tour companies, places to see, etc.).

We did buy a tour book and highlighted some points of interest, but we haven't decided on hiring a tour company or renting a car (oh, that'll be an experience! :zombie: ).

Metallicat, would be fun to meet if possible.

I've been scanning flight prices, currently the cheapest for Sep/Oct is about $700 r/t with taxes. Prices are seasonal tho. Last year I saw them as low as $400 r/t, low season of course. I like to scan for prices at:
http://travel.yahoo.com/
or
http://www.orbitz.com/

but, I always buy from the airlines website (it's always cheaper).

The unexplained realm is fascinating.

I didn't make it to Loch Ness this time-maybe next time. Airfare costs depend on when you decide to go. You'll save money if you can go when there aren't as many people taking vacation ("off season"). I went in July so my ticket was a little expensive.
