What up everyone, haven't posted here in a while so I thought I'd drop in. Been working on guitar tones lately with the TSE X30 and am finally getting some decent sounds out of it.

Thanks for that "constructive" criticism, you can at least include why you don't like it.

Anyway, I modeled it after Derek Roddy's snare in this video:

Yours sounds like its got way too much highs.

Maybe start your chain with abit of valve.
Use a compressor.
Then eq High Pass 60Hz, find the body of the snare between 100-500Hz (try 200 ish), add some crispness around 2-10KHz (try 2-3KHz), and add a little high end.

No doubt bro, derek's feet are ridiculous. It is high pitched than his snare, but I prefer it that way. Might try that compression, already have a compressor on but who knows.

Did you use the Metallica St. Anger snare? SM57 1/2 inch off the seat of a metal folding chair, right?
