So I have been around local scene for quit while and played with shitloads of bands, mostly amateur gigs, with shit sound setup No Backline, No Cab/amp head just straight DI in to mixer kinda of gigs, with most guitar players having basic digitech processor RP50, Zoom processor, last year was bit good , the band for whom i use to sing for won couple of battle of bands, but there is something more i want to push myself to which is SEMI-PRO or PRO gigs, I am from India , the metal scene is not big , but the scene is getting good now atleast this year, loads of international act played, but i am not from big cities, shit, even alcohol is banned in my state :( , nobody around me wants to push themselves and take it to next level

I am from India, Gujarat probably THIRD WORLD COUNTRY !!! , No Indoor Venues, No Clubs , Just few College Campus venues to play gigs, but they are other bands in other part of country which are doing pretty good, but the place where i am from sucks

Did any of you guys have to suffer due to Band members, because the whole thing being in a band is to work as a team , one man can not take a band to next level without contribution from other members :(

Check out Wormrot from Singapore - they use basic gear but write cool songs without a bass player. They released songs for free and some of them caught the attention of Digby from Earache. It is possible to "make it" from third world countries for example Sepultura. Maybe focus on recording songs yourself and releasing them via bandcamp?? Enjoy writing and performing first and see what happens. Good luck mate.

Yup, happens all the time, it's really hard to find a group of musicians that really click on all levels and where no one is holding the others down, it's like finding 4 perfect wives.

Keep at it man, get some stuff recorded and try to use the Internet to your advantage, try to break away from your local scene if it sucks, get gigs in other cities, record, gig, record, gig.... Profit!

you should first record your music with a professional sound and tight playing
you can find many poeple that can help here, and give you great mixes with decent prices
if musicians sucks start first as one man band and record your own music

kryptos is a great band signed on AFM records, why not you?

Finding people that want to work 24/7 for almost free to get a band started up is nearly impossible. I've been in bands on and off for 12 years and I still haven't had a band that has had their act together enough to go on even one tour. The only tour I've been on was with a friend's band, I had a van so they hired me to drive them through a few states for a weekend tour.

I would love to have a band of like-minded and hard working members.

Finding 'musicians' willing to pose for photos, become popular, pick up groupies, drink/party etc > Easy.

Finding musicians willing to work seriously on music > Damn near impossible.

That's what makes this a special place.

you're in the right place for learn really good tips for improve your recording techniques even with only asio4all and a free sequencer if you are out of money, just use google.

if you are a singer start to play guitar also, purchase guitarpro,
learn some tips for programming drums or ask here for someone who can give you an help

there's a lot of work but make all by yourself it's worth the stress.
this in my opinion
:kickass:

I've been in bands for 15 years and still haven't gotten anywhere "special". Never toured, nothing like that.

It seems that every single time you put a few years into a band and things are starting to look up, something always happens to knock you back down again.

Members randomly quit/move/have children, etc....

My latest band just went through almost 2 years of lineup changes, recording with new lineup, then people split, recording gets scratched, find new members, start recording.

Finally have our first gig in years this Saturday. And for once I finally feel like every member of the band has something to contribute for the most part and wants to be proactive and not just party party party.
