Wow... just listened to track one on Arkha Sva's Gloria Satanae. The vocals are beyond hilarious. I'm not sure how the other band members can maintain their grim look without giving way to laughter.

I remember this band being pretty bad, but I can't confirm it at the moment because for some reason no internet media will play for me. I think it has something to do with the webcam that my brother installed a couple days ago. Anyway, here's their myspace:

Arkha Sva are excellent in fact, such a poor way to start an interesting thread Zod :)

I guess Valar and Fear of Eternity would fit real nice in there. Will post some info and samples later on.

So here is a first contribution, namely the unruly Italian one-man... well, "thing" known as Fear of Eternity, and more specifically the infinitely goofy yet vberkvlt-ish Spirit of Sorrow album...

How to describe this... well, think of a poor man's Summoning drowned in pool of pink creamy gayboards and cheap latino melancholy... Dev and I pissed our breeches so hard the first time we heard this... that I ended up buying the album

So for your general amusement, here is the most aptly titled "Atrocious Pain", followed by the "highlight" of the record, the eponymous "Spirit of Sorrow" (listening tip for this one: the sudden evil screech at 2'43, an alltime winner)
And if your bladder hasn't run dry after this special double treatment, here is a bonus: "Flying over the Mountains", from the non less hilarious, yet not quite as accomplished 2004 album Toward the Castle

Passing note to one-man bands : composing one album per week will bring you nowhere

My comment on Arkha Sva from the other thread:

Melodies are AMAZING. Vocals are guttural, screams, and high pitched falsetto which is so fucking out there you will laugh and then headband uncontrollably.

Actually, the King Diamond falsetto stuff only appears in small doses. Most of it is pretty orthodox BM.

What can I tell you... when it started playing, I started laughing, hence the name of the thread. As always, different strokes...

hahahahaha ... those vocals make this song ... without them, its pedestrian huddah ... that being said ... are you sure those are not samples from chinese porn? sounds like the high pitched cat calls of asian bints getting a rogering

That song is "49 Evil Spirits" !!! :kickass: One of the BEST BM songs of the year! The vocals make the song  the way he goes from falsetto to "gaaaaarrrrghh!"

Zod - those king diamond vocals start and end at 0:29 -- is that where you turned it off? The riff which kicks in at 1:30 is total melodic devastation britzkrieg, and it's reprised at 2:50. The whole track built around that is seriously outstanding. \m/

Atrocious pain is god awful. I can't bring myself to listen to any of the others.

Nah... I made it through the whole track. However, I did so only to see if more hilarity would ensue.

As lurch put it, the music is fairly pedestrian. The only thing that separates these guys from the pack are the vocals, which we've established, are funnier than a drunken RiA post, after returning home from a long day at the office, only to discover that two black guys and a Hispanic guy broke into his place, and stole only his Mael Mordha CDs.

:tickled: There's a pattern here :tickled:

Actually, those particular vocals are pretty sporadic throughout the album -- short bursts here or there on maybe 2 tracks total? -- otherwise, yeah, if by "pedestrian" you mean it sounds like "black metal" then I agree, it's just really good "pedestrian" metal. It's not trying to be prog or anything.

LOL ... what does this band look like? I need visuals with this music for a full belly laugh
