Wow ... just did a jorne land search and found this .... This is a cool idea !!!!

The RUSSELL ALLEN / JORN LANDE project of 2005, billed as 'The Battle', pitched two of the most extraordinary Hard Rock vocal talents together. JORN LANDE had made a striking impression on the global Metal scene with a collection of solo albums and most prominently fronting MASTERPLAN. The in demand singer had also vocalised for VAGABOND, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ARK, MUNDANUS IMPERIUM, MILLENIUM and THE SNAKES. RUSSELL ALLEN, frontman of leading US Progressive Metal act SYMPHONY X, had issued a solo effort, 'Atomic Soul'.

The elaborate artwork for 'The Battle' was executed by the esteemed Christian fantasy artist Rodney Matthews. Guitar work came courtesy of LAST TRIBE's Magnus Karlsson.

It's a sweet, sweet listen. I like Allen's solo work much better the SX much more classic and heavier tracks.

I cannot wait to see Conception reunion at PPVI as well as Angra, Symphorce and others.

I absolutely luved the first Masterplan, but the 2nd just doesn't do it, will have to give it a few more spins.

The first release of Circle II Circle (watching in silence) was a kicker, great tracks like walls and fields of sorrow but then all members have been replaced except Zak and the second release (Middle of Nowhere) just doesn't shine like the first release.

19 more days to PPVI! :hotjump:

ARK! Long time since i played that disc... still gives me the chills when i listen to this album. *thnx for the idea, guitarguru!*

I had (with the accent on HAD  ) a limited edition of an acoustic gig Angra did in France, it contained a few Angra songs from Holy Land an 2 brazilian songs. A special edition of Holy Land, oh man..
i still love that image on the cover.
The original line-up, with Andre Matos and Luis Mariutti... he can play bass!
I was lucky to see them live in Rotterdam at The Baroeg, somewhere in 1997.

Holy shit, Iris you like Angra? You win. If you like the original line up, listen to Shaman, it's basicially everyone who quit Angra with what's his names brother. I def think the new Angra bassist crushes Luis though. And you can't say Edu is better than Matos since that's his biggest influence, but I love Edu haha!
