You might try the last 3 Kataonia albums, especially Viva Emptiness and The Great Cold Distance. A little darker and what have you, but definitely heavy Tool influence.
I have to agree with you here.
they are a band i found going through youtube looking for leaked tool music for the new 2012 album, They are not super similar to toll but i really enjoy their music and they are for sure influenced by tool. I also would like to submit

Also another band that i recomend is Parabelle.
their lead singer is the ex lead singer of a band called evans blue, they are from canada. evans blue kinda sucks now as they area a 3 days grace sounding band now but the albums with Kevin Matisyn from evans blue are really good. also the first parrabelle album A Summit Borderline/Adrop in the ocean is excellent. the album after that which is their second album Reassembling The Icons is a good album as well but it seems more producer touched so it is not as inventive as a drop in the ocean.
This is one of my favorite Parrabele songs
and this is one of my favorite evans blue from the kevin matisyn days song.
Sorry to have resurected a pre resurected thread but this is stuff that all of us that fiend over sometning to fill our holes while we wait the many years between tool albums

a friend of mine introduced me to a band called SOEN which is pretty much a tool imitation band, other than that A perfect circle is the closest you will get. and Chevelles vocals are nothing compared to Maynards.
I guess by that you mean bands that you might like if you like Tool. Try The Dark Sinatras if you're brave enough. They are at www.thedarksinatras.com, they're sick!

Is it just me or does this cover song sound like a Tool song? Not really in the vocals but in the way the bass is used, and the way it builds up in a certain part. I could be way off.

Look up Temple of Thieves on spotify ------> Check out "related artists". Found several with obvious Tool influence in their sound.

You're welcome! For Boil, check out their song "So Many Men". The most similar sounding song they have. But Heretic Martyr, The Fall and Sever the Tie are just great tunes!
