Bands you enjoy more than Opeth

Opeth is my favorite band, but stuff I listen to besides opeth (and I like to keep my musical tastes very broad), are:
Blood Bath (also Mikael Akerfeldt!)
Cradle of Filth
Deftones
Dimmu Borgir (first metal band I ever heard)
Fireball Ministry (they opened for opeth and I loved them)
GWAR (hilarious live)
the Haunted
Helloween
Hypocrisy
In Flames
Katatonia
KMFDM
Mindless Self Indulgence (also hilarious live)
Naglfar
Napalm Death
Nevermore (saw them with opeth, also hooked)
Nine Inch Nails
Novembers Doom
The Project Hate (I got the song At the entrance to hells unholy fire free somewhere, its a great song try to find it)
Radiohead (lightest. stuff. ever.)
Rammstein (hot live. and by hot I mean lots of fire)
System of a Down (first rock band I heard)
Vital Remains

And also the website metalstorm.ee. it has free downloads of independent bands every month, sometimes big people like Annihilator or Nevermore.

hey guys instead of adhering to the topic of the thread, I'm just gonna list every shitty band that I've ever listened to!

also lmao @ people who think opeth is the pinnacle of all music

dont really enjoy any band more than opeth, but sometimes when im in different moods ill prefer someone else over them. stuff like tool, sting, porcupine tree. im not saying their the pinnacle of all music, im not that presumptous but i do enjoy opeth more than any other band generally.

sad & true. bands I enjoy more than Opeth are few in number.

Opeth is good and one of my all time favorites. But my toip three bands as of now are Head Control System, Porcupine Tree, and Agalloch.

Opeth will always be one of my favorite bands. They have decent depth, PLUS the ability to be listened to repeatedly. Most of the more amazing music i've heard doesn't have the "i could listen to this every day" factor. Something about the nature of that kind of powerful music i guess. Some music that has elicited a greater emotional response from me than Opeth:

Pain Of Salvation
Arvo Part
Raison D'Etre
Nadja
Birchville Cat Motel
Max Richter
Johann Johannsson
Godspeed You Black Emperor
Giacinto Scelsi
Red House Painters
Anglagard
Ulf Soderberg
Sea Green Series
Thomas Koner
Monstrare
Elend
Szymon Kuran
Until Death Overtakes Me
