Bands you enjoy more than Opeth

About the thread...

I enjoy plenty of bands more than Opeth, in different ways... most bands just fill a sort of niche satisfaction, so its possible to enjoy all of them more than each other, just differently.

When it comes to Opeth, I find that they're frequently the most satisfying all-round, simply because they seem to have the consistently highest quality of music in their catalogue. It's all very balanced, and they do many things well, as opposed to the niche market of most bands.

My favorite bands are Opeth, Tool and Cradle of Filth, so the only bands I enjoy more than Opeth are those two and it depends in the day or mood I am in.

I can spend weeks without listening to Tool or CoF while only listening to Opeth, then other days I switch and listen to another one. It all depends on the mood im in.

To me, there is not band that can compare to Pink Floyd... they are the greatest band to ever exist. Right after them comes Opeth...

not exactly moreso overall, but on any given day a band like Ayreon (mostly 'the human equation'), Porcupine Tree, or Riverside, or Bauhaus will get more play than opeth.


but it vaires....because the main thing i listen to at work (meaning 8+ hours a day) is opeth.

opeth is a certain kind of music enjoyment. i drive a lot for my job (i deliver pizza) and ive found that i cant listen to opeth in the car b/c im too busy concentrating on other things to truly appreciate it. music along the same lines that i enjoy more is pretty much all classical. mostly operas. mostly mozart's.

if you like weakling, and the gault...check out "asunder". same guys, super emotive and powerful. funeral doom like thergothon or evoken...just more melody.

Even though the melodies are very emotional, The Beatles don't have the musicianship that Opeth does.

i think this proves you know very little about "musicianship" in the first place. paul mccartney and john lennon could play numerous instruments well, and write numerous diverse songs using that knowledge and ability in their careers. plz stfu before you make anymore of an ass out of yourself.
