ya know, im finding more bm bands i can enjoy. i still have a hatred for bands like mayhem with their 4 chord fury, but i am pleasantly suprised by some of these black metal bands.

I recently found Ondskapt as well, and I think they kick ass. I've also been rediscovering Thorns s/t, which is also very interesting to me.

Has anyone hear heard of Anata? I have seen some good reviews but I haven't heard them yet. I am thinking of checking them out.

Roach, try Grand Belial's Key, Nifelheim, Ulver (First three albums, of which the first and third are metal), Negurã Bunget and Taake to begin with.
I would absolutely not call De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas 4-chord fury, if you haven't heard that album, DO SO.
Nice that you are getting to hear more black metal, maybe you'll learn properly eventually.

Basically, it's very short, but the stuff that is there is quite good. I found it used for cheap, so I don't regret buying it, but I wouldn't pay a lot for it.
