Bass Beginner

hi

I’m currently learning bass guitar and in the market to buy a fairly good bass ranging in cost between $500 and $900. Id want the bass to be flexible in playing funk and metal, what should I go for? You input would be greatly appreciated

You can't go wrong with a Fender Standard Jazz Bass.

i always thought ibanez was very decent, but im not a bass player

I'm a bassist, and I don't like Fender. Not my style.

Ibanez is pretty solid. Go with that for your first bass.

Buy a Vantage. They're cheap as hell and fucking easy to play.

Thanx for the help, I might add I’m looking into a 5 string is this the right way to go. I do no it’s of a higher difficulty to play but nevertheless that 5th string still has a use and with some of the music i wish to play it is needed. Would this be smart?
