Bass VST Recommendations?

I currently use EW's Hardcore Bass for bass on a lot of projects.

But it doesn't really seem to be "multi sampled", aka; On tremolo parts and breakdowns, its the same sample over and over.

Is there a way to fix this in the program?

Or can anyone recommend some other Bass vst's?
One's that are DI's, and not pre-amped basses would be greatly appreciated.

I think there is no VST that will work without strong midi mapping. I left the idea and bought a 120 euros LTD bass. Best money ever spent, actually.

I gave up on bass vsts, and now I just use a borrowed bass

Buy a bass, learn to play it.
I don't mind amp sims, but guitar and bass sims are just taking shit too far.
You're never gonna get the nuances of a real player with these things, and besides, it's a lot more rewarding knowing you know how to play another instrument.

Hardcore bass was my go-to vst instrument though for basic training stuff. It sounds quite good for what it is.

A nice bass is pretty important for a good sound IMO... don't just cheap out on it.
