ok guys im about to record my bass today, and was wondering a few question.,

about the sansamp, is the hardware similar the RTAS version ?
or what would you guys recommend, metal dist type of bass sound.

I got the POD XT live bass expansion but dunno how good that would do,
and also if any of of you tried bass impulses if anyone got good results.

I will record it DI in to my focusrite micpre then into PT.

Thanks!

The Bass expansion is rather nice, just pull up an SVT head, crank the input gain 'til your happy and run the output gain on full, into the 8x10 cab with a u47 far and about 20% room.

Mix the DI of the bass about 30/70 with the POD and you should have a nice solid bass sound going.

The biggest factor for a good bass tone is making sure you have a good instrument with lively sounding strings.

Warwick and Elixir are the key to my tone right now.
