Hi Guys!
I take this rec in order to have some suggestions to improve myself in production!
My principal problem is bass sound... I use steven slate and pod farm.. but for the bass i use ampeg svx...how can i obtain a good sound for the bass..?? this take in my sample is so bad!! :yow:

P.S. there's no guitar editing and bass editing...just a little bit of eq and comp! and no master! :loco:

I accept every critics!

hey nico. you can hardly hear the bass in this mix. I also use Ampeg SVX and actually get some pretty nice tones from it. Here's a sample in a similar style track. http://soundcloud.com/beneaththeblissmusic/flump

I normally use the SVT-4 Pro amp with the SVT 819 E cab. A good start if you want a bright but heavy bass tone. I normally cut around 500Hz and 2.5kHz with a medium Q (from 0.3 to 0.6) to get rid of some of the boxyness and some horrible higher frequencies. After that, comp it to shit. High ratio, fast attack, release of around 200 ms so it's slammed and can hardly breathe.

As well as this, you could also put the same bass audio on a new track, but instead of using Ampeg, use the same tone you are using for your guitar tone in PF and bandpass it, so you're left with mid frequency distortion that you can blend with the other bass track to taste. Usual gets your bass and guitars to sit better together.

Hope this helps dude =)
