So we can now have the James Murphy Bass tone!!!!! Yeahhh!!!!! Let's write down his settings!!!!! Hahahahh!!!!

Is that an Ibanez Sr? Which model? As a non-bass-player too,I want to get a bass for recording purposes, but it has to be a rather comfortable for my hands bass. Any ideas?

those Soundgears like the one James is using in the video can be pretty comfortable for guitar players cause of the thin neck, plus they sound kickass

Cool video James, nice setup!

Am I´m going to be mocked if I ask for the Bass Driver DI settings? I´m serious! I can´t hear the tone on the video, but I´m sure it´s awesome.

ha.. just pause it and go full-screen in 780p HD mode... you can clearly see the settings.. mess with the contrast of your screen... depending on the bass and playing style, they may or may not work for you... it really sounds best with those settings when combined with the Radial JDV mk3, because they were dialed to do just that.

it's a basic Ibanez SR 500, and they can be had for about $500 or so at just about any Guitar Center. they are very comfortable for guitarists, but can slip in your lap if you play seated, as i do.... thus the faux "crab" posture

BTW, what app did you use to record it? Cycorder, or some other?

no, it's just the built-in video recording functionality of the iPhone 3GS... comes with it right out of the box. previous versions of the iPhone didn't have video recording, but since the 3GS it's part of the basic functionality.

oh I didn;'t know you had a 3GS, i have the 3G and yeah there's no video recording, but I use cycorder from cydia (yeah I have it jailbroken and unlocked, mainly cause I don't like the carrier that has them here and in Venezuela), the video quality kinda sucks but it's the best I can get. I asked cause your video looks better than mine, now I know why

True. The playing style dictates everything on the settings, I was just curious.
By the way, if anyone else is interested:
