[BASS] Tuning down to A#

Hi there,

I used to play in drop C with a .135 low string on my current bass, and I'm planning on tuning down to A#. I tried it once, sounded floppy. I also want to keep the action as low as possible.

Should I get heavier strings or simply increase the action ?

Aiming for the brown note are we? You should not have a problem tuning down to A# with a .135 string. I have my Ibanez 5 string tuned in A standard and I only have a .130 low string.
