Guys I`ve noticed that SdG forum users come from many countries so it would be great if each one of us could recommend your local bassists that majority of us would never know about.

So, I`d like to introduce to you a bassplayer from Poland, probably the best in my homeland. His name is Woytek Pilichowski aka Pilich (pronounce :pee-leeh).He`s been a side-man for many Polish artists (pop, rock, r`n`b) for several years but at each gig he has his 5 minutes.

If you wanna find out his skills just take a looka at this video ftp://bass:bas00fka@213.195.142.156/!UPLOAD/Bassist/Pilich_Holdys.avi
If you don`t have enough time for waitning just suck an mp3 ftp://bass:bas00fka@213.195.142.156/!UPLOAD/Bassist/Pilich_Solo.mp3

Here`s some more mp3`s from Pilich`s official website http://pilichowski.pl/dane/index.html

So, if you listen to some stuff just drop some lines here. And don`t forget to introduce some bassplayers from your countries!

Hippie, just try to check out this guy I`ve just recommended.
Despite I didn`t hold a bass guitar in my hans so far, I like the sound of a good bass :tickled: And I`m chatting a little bit on Pilich forum. There`s not much metal-freaks but they do appreciate your style while they listened to your samples and saw you smashing your frettie :hotjump:
Maybe there`s some of your friends who speaks polish so ask him for translation http://forum-muzyczne.net/viewtopic.php?t=3900

Yo all the people!
I'm new here, but I'm coming straight from Wojtek Pilichowski message board (earlier also on BunnyBassBoard).
There's thread 'bout SdG... I like the things you can do on frettless.. I'm playing in death metal band now, but I'm nothing if you compare it to Sadus, Death (Mentally Blind roxxx), Testament (sorry, but I had no cash for gig in Warsaw :( - had to buy strings).
Keep rocking!

Marijn de Zeeuw from Pulmonary Abcess is very good underground bassplayer. He also plays fretless with an outstanding speed and intensity.

:D

I have not any link to post :(

Sorry :(

I have mentioned him before but I really dig his playing. Swedish metalband Dark Tranquillitys former bassist Martin Henriksson. He has a great melodic playingstyle give him a listen. He played on al DT´s albums from Skydancer to Projector.

Some great masterpieces are Lethe, Punish my heaven(Behind all those great guitar licks are some wicked basslines), Nether Novas, Undo Control, Crimson Winds, Shadow duet and of course Alone.

He has now switched to playing guitar for DT and is doing an exellent job I might add.

I don't really know very good french bassists outside of metal

But to stay not too far from metal, I'd like to mention Pascal Mulot!
He did an amazing work on his solo records, and on Patrick Rondat's records. :worship:
I didn't find a web site to let you know much more about him, but try to listen to him!!!

I'd like to mention Jean-Jacques Moréac too. He plays in Misanthrope, has an original way of playing (But it stays metal!).
I really like him!
band homepage : http://misanthrope.darkriver.net/
recommanded titles : la druidesse du gevaudan, l'écume des solos, Trumpets of Hypochondria and the Visionnaire album. :headbang:

Hope you'll like it too, and sorry for my english
