Battle of the Bands, match 6

Okay, this one is the clash of the titans in the first round: Megadeth vs. Metallica

I don't think I need to introduce either of these bands, do I? Sadly, Megadeth is no longer with us (and for long-term fans, neither is the Metallica we once knew and loved, either).

So who do you like better?

Gotta go with Megadeth. They are my favorite band in the world, despite the fact Metallica made me a metalhead.

Hey, I am new to the board, and I have gotta question: whenever I fought for a poll it saya something like, "this action cannot be attempted because your session is invalid, please try again". Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

First off, welcome to the board.

I've never seen that error message before. Since people are only allowed to vote once on any given poll, it may have something to do with the settings on your computer for allwing cookies? Or maybe because you are a junior member (ie. less than 10 posts), that voting isn't allowed to prevent others from creating new profiles purely for the purpose of stuffing the ballot box. Anyone else know what might be wrong?

Since they are both "dead to me" now, it was a tough decision, but I went with Metallica.

Also, you're a junior member til you get 100 posts, not 10.

How about that new Megadeth compilation??? Dave can't play guitar anymore, but he can find ways to make $$$$$$$$$$$. I thought it was kinda sad to see the first of the big 4 break up, but I think it was all a plot. Dave was depressed to see his band slip to a point where they weren't going gold or selling out arenas anymore, so he split. I guarantee he puts Megadeth back together so he can market it has a big comeback. "Megadeth 2004: Woke Up Dead Tour, The Return of 'Deth"

I see nothing wrong with making $$$$$$$$, and I doubt thats the reason they broke up. Besides the world needs a hero was great. I vote megadeth. they always put out better thrash than that other country band....

I voted Metallica, purely because I like their first four albums, whereas with Megadeth, I can only really get into "Killing..." and "Peace Sells..." Both bands also released horrid sell-out albums (Risk, Load, etc.) which made the voting tougher. I always thought Megadeth were better at their instruments, though.

Despite their horrific downfall since Load of Crap, Metallica defined metal in the 80's, and those albums are still masterpieces, so I give them the vote based on past glory.

only oldschool Metallica, the last fast song was Dyers Eve on Justice.......love the song ,hate most of the rest on the Justice album, can't stand songs that last over7, 8,9,10 or more minutes.Bought load for cheap, did'nt even bother to take a listen to reload!!

As for the poll it is a tough choice. Megadeth get the vote on the fact that their videos are much better than Metallica's.

Megadeth has had only one album that has not been great and that is Risk. However there are some songs on it that I do like. I put it back in a while back, and I just remember hating it when it first came out. But after some time, its not SO bad. Not great but not as bad as I remembered.

Megadeth. Metallica had three great albums (yes I think AJFA is only good, not great) While Megadeth's first 6 albums are all very good in my opionion; and I don't think they have ever made a bad album... and Rude Awakining Rocks!

Can you's guys believe that I, Thraude, voted for Metallica?
I HATE Metallica, personally. But I dig their music.
MASTER OF PUPPETS, RIDE THE LIGHTNING, KILL 'EM ALL -- All are Classic!
I respect their music. Even LOAD and RE-LOAD. I am one of the few old-school Metallica fans who liked those albums.
I like Megadeth as well, but I prefer Metallica.
HOWEVER-
I will NOT buy any album they release in the future. I will download instead.

Here's to 'stealing' their next album!
