BBE Green Screamer, anyone?

American bro :/ I can get a ts7 for like £38 and mod it myself with the right instructions it's just finding them haha :)

Yeah but with the clones you get a solid metal box, metal heavy duty switches etc. You wouldn't ahve to worry about it falling apart on you. If you are lookign cheap though, seriously look at the Boss SD-1. They are pretty damn close to the TS-9 and can get you identical with a few mods AND come in a heavy duty metal case.

I'd definitely be willing to do that but I really don't know what I'm looking at with schematics etc I'd need pictures and pretty much a paint by fucking numbers haha

There are many pictures and how to's, showing where the components are located in the schematic and where it is located on teh circuit board. Just run through OD pedal mods. Googling "SD-1 to TS9 mod" or "SD-1 to 808 mod" will get you to some pretty cool pages and forums which you could post at if you need more help.

Hell you may even like the SD-1. I have one unmodded and love it, but the mods are easy and reversable.

Most people on the forums seem to think it doesn't sound all that similar. Would it make more sense to mod the TS7?! Especially since I'm new to modding relatively haha

The SD-1 have the same exact circuit, the only difference is the values. The SD-1 are the same as the TS7 but the SD-1 is a much sturdier pedal.

The SD-1 is a great pedal, I am suprised it is as cheap as it is.

I'm just going ofwhat those forums said bro, not saying your lying or anything haha. So is it a case of replacing a number of resistors or?

yup thats about it. I think any difference in tone from an SD-1 would be from the type of components thatthey use. I beleive they use differenct caps than the ibanez pedals but the schematics are the same minues component values.

Thanks man :)

Just remember its all up to you. The TS7 is going to be built just llike a TS9, but the SD-1 is more rugged than the TS7, but will sound a little bit different (not better/worse, just different). So when you determine which sacrifice you want to make, you can make a decision.

Ok, I'm back! I ended up with BBE, I'm just trying it now and I already loved it!

Here's a short clip, it's really sloppy and sorry for my bad playing. I'll do a better one tomorrow or so.

Signal chain: Schecter C7 Blackjack ATX > BBE Green Screamer > ENGL e530 > NI Audio Kontrol 1 > Logic Pro (Recabinet 2 - Tangerine 4x12 with 57 mic-edge 1) Cuts at 80hz and 10khz

Without drums, another riff. First off and then on. No EQ:

How is the SD-1 built "more rugged" than a TS9/7? I've gigged a shitload of times with my TS9 and not once has it given me any sign of not being built as good as the NS-2 I've used right along with it every time too. Just saying that there is no reason to believe the SD-1 is built any better than the TS, sorry. Also, to me the idea of buying a SD-1 solely for the purpose of modding it to be a TS clone is a waste of time and money, why not just buy a TS and be done with it?

Take a look at the chinese Biyang X-drive. Great reviews and tone and with 3 different chips.
