been hearing rumors of plans for 3 new star wars films??

guy on youtube tore episode one and two apart, and he is 100% right with every thing not only does the acting an most of the one dimensional charactors suck in I-III but the stories literally dont make sense at certain points,

he did about ten parts reviewing the film and it is genius

part 1

but revenge of the sith however, just absolutely blew my mind. knock hayden christiansen maybe, but i cried. i'll say it. my two cents.

i dunno, man...that movie ended up being a huge letdown for me

with the entire build-up of the storyline with anakin turning to vader, palpatine becoming emperor, etc. etc., it had all the potential to be one of the greatest cinematic achievements of the last decade. rather, it did nothing but showcase lucas' shortcomings as a filmmaker, and to me would rate maybe 3.5 out of 5 stars.

the thought of him continuing the film saga, even beyond all the other spin-offs and shit that already exist, is pretty nauseating, and definitely elicit a "NO CARE EVAR" response from this guy

Fuck Chris Nolan, I dont get what everyone likes about his directing or film style.

"Ohh I shoot really eerie and dark like Ridley Scott did" .... bla

To add to that, the way he has his editor edit action just kills any scene of an action scene for me. Actually, I remember that being one of my only real complaints from "Batman Begins". Just feels all awkward and jerky.

+1 - Now dont get me wrong I enjoyed the movies and the story lines, and Liam Neeson was fucking great. Just the way he edits, and the way Bale does the "cookie monster" voice thing annoys me.

Then again I have a very odd tasted in directors:
Tarantino
Scorcese
Kubrick
Howard
Cameron

If their styles could be any different they would all be from different planets ...lol (ok Howard and Cameron are similar ...lol)

Sort of in relation to the above and also back on topic, maybe George Lucas could do what he did with "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" and pick different directors to helm the material. Maybe give someone under the radar directors a chance like he did back then.

The prequels to me were at face value, popcorn flicks. At least the first and second (1 and 2). Did they waste my time? You betcha, but did I get immersed into the Star Wars universe again? Yep. I enjoyed it in the theaters, it was a good blockbuster. It wasn't Empire by all means, and it didn't hold a candle to the original films, but as a "kids" movie it was okay. It did what it was supposed to do. Create an innocence in the worlds and slowly move it towards darkness. As it did through 1-3. Episode II was kind of in between good and horrible, Ewan McGregor is a great actor but he is restricted by wooden dialog. Hayden Christiansen is a horrible actor mostly, but I think by the time Episode III hit he was perfect as Anakin.

Anakin had become this tormented soul, twisted and self conflicted. His combination of having to show no emotion and then the feelings of all of the "bad ones" rising to the surface was portrayed well by Haydens horrible delivery of sometimes more enthusiastic lines. He WAS Anakin to me.

IMO Revenge of the Sith was about 10 times better than part 1 or 2 , but that still only makes it a semi-watchable movie... and wtf is with star wars and terrible acting?!? Like this really bad sneeze from Anakin:

AFTER Chewie's death?

Chewie holding up a planet so everyone else can escape could be the next Terminator 2 thumbs up!

But I suppose him growling away and Han doing expositional interpreting would suck the drama right out of that scene.

If they want to do expanded universe stuff, old republic is the way to go, and hire the writing team from KOTOR.

only problem with basing it on KOTOR is everyone thats played it has a preconceived notion of what characters like Reven, Malek, etc are like so it may let down a lot of fans. If they make another set of 3 they have to be darker in nature
