Excuse me if this is old news but it's the first I've heard about it.

I work for an ecommerce company and I was talking to a pro audio vendor and I made a joke about them having so many behringer products. He went on to tell me that they were going to drop them because behringer fired like 90% of their employees and cut off their american distributors. So their products are going to be insanely hard to get in the US.

Apparently they don't believe the american market is good for them anymore. Anyone else hear about this? Not saying this is a total loss but I def found it interesting.

Well, they bought Midas not too long ago. Maybe they want to focus on selling these consoles on the American market. Just a thought.

I call BS.

I think this all just stems from the drama going on with the Bugera Tri-Rec. Randall Smith filed an injunction so they cant sell it in the states. Hartley Peavey heard about this and is attempting to do the same thing. So if I were all of you if you are considering a 333XL or a 6260 I would buy them NOW! Cause I say by the end of 2011 we see the end of Bugera in the US.

I doubt Behringer would do such a thing COMPANY WIDE for fear of losing mass quantities of cash.

EDIT: All their america distributors are still listed.

The truth is that all vendors are required to have a certain amount of their products in stock to buy them(They have to be "certified vendors" to buy them.).. which causes some problems with smaller vendors as they cant afford to have such a large stock of products.
This "pro audio vendor" was just pulling an excuse to not seem like the poor bastard he really is. ;)

Just wondering where you heard this information. If he filed an injunction it has not stopped the sale of the TriRec units in the US as several dealers still list them as in stock and ready for delivery.

World Music Supply, B&H, and several others still list them.

Is the information about Randall Smith online? Or did you hear it through the grapevine from a reliable source?

I'm not calling BS honestly - I'm really interested to see if someone is finally able to dispute Behringer and stop their methods of "Product development" <snicker>. Being employed in Big Pharma my company has to file suit against generic manufacturers all over the world every day to stop the manufacturing of generic forms of products we clearly own the patent for, so I'm interested in these sort of things.

Both pieces of info came from a friend who works for Mesa. As for World Music Supply and B&H they were told by Behringer not to sell these in the US. If they are hope that Randall Smith doesn't find out.

If you go to the Bugera Website they state the reason they are not available in the US is because of some UL Listing bullshit. Either way you cant "legally" buy a Tri-Rec in the US.

I have not heard of anyone owning one. Have you? If so how do they sound? I am interested in finding out. I cant even find You Tube vids of them

LOL ... just called B&H and they DO NOT have any in stock. According to B&H they are a special order item and they will not be stocked. It will take 7 to 14 days for them to get one from Bugera and ship it to you...lol

I call bullshit. Total Bullshit.

Personally I am starting to think the Tri-Rec doesn't even exist. Its just an idea and a media hype. Just like Bugera in the beginning. They started advertising in 2007 and noone had their hands on an amp till late in 2008.

It's public and reads at the bottom of the front page:

"BEHRINGER Distribution Changes"

That just says they are changing their sales model. Not that they are stopping distribution in the US and Canada. If anything they changes they are making will strengthen their position in the market.

The addition of being able to order "Factory Direct" from them will drive down the costs of their gear. Therefore giving us a cheaper cost for purchasing their gear.

Its what Carvin has always done and made them a contender.

Think about it the 333XL which is an amazing amp is currently $599. If you take out the middle man you are probably looking at closer to $399 retail.

Where else are you going to get a 3 channel all tube head with boostable FX loop. The ability to use 6L6 or EL34's at the flip of a switch, programmable Reverb per channel and a noise gate built in?

From how it reads guru, they will not be factory direct for consumers, it says factory direct to the distributors, whatever that means. They list 3 distributors in the US, one for east, one for midwest and one for west. The press release says these distributors will interact "directly" with behringers facilities in China, rather than be filtered through behringers north american offices...Or, "dedicated" customers to operate in a factory direct relationship with Behringer itself, outside the dist.'s...I assume this could/would apply to the large sellers here like GC/MF, Sam ash, etc.

here...

The planned sales model changes will see the Company appoint key business partners to provide importation and fulfillment services to current and future MUSIC Group dealers in the US, rather than servicing them directly through the group’s North American office. A new “Container Program” will also be implemented, which allows dedicated customers to engage in a factory-direct relationship at a minimum purchase requirement, with benefits such paid freight costs offered by The MUSIC Group. The key partners appointed for the US include Fill On Demand for the West, Starin Distribution for the Midwest and Shoreview Distribution for the East. In Europe, the Group will operate on a factory-to-dealer direct program. All changes will apply solely to the BEHRINGER and BUGERA brands, as MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK will maintain their current sales structure.

I'm looking at both the cost of the 333 and the Tri Rec and going...

Fuck that, buy a used XXX or save another 300 and get a used triple rec.

There is no way these things sound as good as what they are attempting to clone right? I got lucky with my DR and got it for $900 used, but at the time they were going for 1100 used on evil bay. Why the fuck would anyone bother with a Bugera?

In all likelyhood, they sound fine. I tried the 6262 and the 333 in Japan when I was over there, and they sounded good. Apparently they've cleared up their reliability issues too.

I'll be looking quite hard at a TriRec if they ever come out. Even at list price, they're about £500 cheaper than a used Dual Rect.

I actually played a 6202 last weekend.. i hate to admit it, but it sounded great.
But then again, who would dare moving one around for tours etc? ;)

Not everyone gets the same prices on used amps as you do in the USA. I bought my Bugera 6262 combo for about 500€, when a used 6505 is 850€ or more in Finland (and there weren't any back when I bought my amp, and I think they were more like 950€).
