Our bassist brought one of these to the jam space except his is 4 channels.

Anyone use these? Junk? Any good for live vocals or maybe running recorded tracks through instead of software emulators for mixing?

I have no experience with it, but my suggestion is that if your bassist gave you one, why don't you try it out and give US the answer?

I have heard that you can mod these to be halfway decent by adding changing tubes, transformers (buy some DI-400's and take the transformers out of them) caps and opamps. Though I've not tried it myself.
Basically you're rebuilding it with decent components, so almost thinking of it like a pre-built diy kit.
