BENEDICTUM and Two Alumni Bands Finalize
Roster Announcements for Flight of the Valkyries 2008

SwordLord Productions Completes Bill for Second Annual US All Female-Fronted Metal Festival
St. Paul, Minnesota - March 12, 2008 - Heavy US power metal from California, Benedictum, has officially been added to the line-up for the second annual Flight of the Valkyries (FotV) metal festival on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Station 4 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.

"As a band that has consistently received praise since the release of their debut album Uncreation in 2006, Benedictum has quickly become a strong force in American and female-fronted heavy metal," says Nathan "SwordLord" Block, Flight of the Valkyries festival promoter and founder of SwordLord Productions. “Adding Benedictum to the FotV roster has been a goal of ours from the start of this years’ booking, so needless to say we are ecstatic to finally be able to announce this great addition to the 2008 festival. I’m sure the fans will be just as happy as I am.”

Benedictum, who recently released its sophomore album Seasons of Tragedy, delivers an epic style of metal with awesome riffs, fierce rhythms, strong melodies and shredding leads. Combine those talents and top it off with one of the most extraordinary voices to enter the metal scene in the last decade, courtesy of Veronica Freeman.

SwordLord Productions has also completed this year’s festival roster by adding FotV alumni Visideon, heavy metal with a classical twist from Minneapolis, MN, and Earthen, American folk metal from Brookfield, IL, who both played the Flight of the Valkyries’ debut festival in 2007.

"We are honored to have the continued support of talented up-and-coming acts like Earthen and Visideon. Both bands have showed incredible enthusiasm towards the festival and our mission to support and bring more female-fronted metal to the US. I enjoy working with both of these bands very much and am very happy that they are both on the bill again this year," says Block.

Additional confirmed bands for the 2008 FotV festival include headliner, Unexpect, a “metal laboratory” from Canada; Shadowside, intense power metal from Brazil; Dendura, progressive metal with a middle eastern/Egyptian infused sound and image, including a belly dancer as part of their live stage show; Something to Fear, dark heavy metal with a powerful blend of bluesy vocals and growling from Minneapolis, MN; and Aria Sharp, an eclectic rock band from Minneapolis, MN who’s not afraid to show their aggressive side.

Tickets for the Flight of the Valkyries festival are currently on sale for $10 until March 15 as part of a special internet pre-sale. Regular ticket prices are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of show. Doors will open at 3:00 pm. The show is 18+. Advanced tickets for the festival can be purchased here: http://swordlordproductions.indietic...tomer/home.php

Flight of the Valkyries is the only music festival of its kind in the US devoted to metal bands with female lead vocalists. The festival showcases all metal sub-genres with the only unifying factor being that a female vocalist obviously must front the band.

The festival debuted in June of 2007, showcasing a variety of female-fronted metal bands such as Doro, Vainglory, Earthen, The Ottoman Empire, Visideon, Spiritual Decay, and Sirens of Titan.

This is Veronica, the lead singer of Benedictum.

She is married ... life isn't fair ...

Hey, she paid good money for those...feathers! So stare all you want at the feathers. XD

She's also very sweet in person. And short. Lots of vocal power, lots of stage presence, she's a very good frontwoman. Benedictum = WIN.

I think she's beautiful and even if she wasn't, I wouldn't give a shit cause she can belt it like Dio. She has some of the most incredibly powerful vocals that I have ever heard! Ever! This band fucking rocks! Their new album rocks! (Although I have to say I do think I like the first one a little better.) I cannot wait until June!

Beyond that, Earthen and Visideon rocked my socks last year and I'm 100% looking forward to enjoying both there sets again this year!

Nathan you are amazing. There was a time when I never thought we would pull this one off, but you did it and this year is going to rock so hard! Thank you! Thank you for making this whole damn festival possible! You rock! :headbang:

Despite Veronica looking very masculine facially in her promo pics, there's no trace of that when you see her in person. She's very attractive, both inside and out.

Personally, this is one of my favorite promos of her:

Veronica has a very cool voice and is smoking hot. The problem with Benedictum (for me) is the songwriting. They need better players backing her. Regardless, this is a good get for Nathan. I would think Benedictum will draw well. Congrats.

Benedictum absolutely kicks ass. Congrats! I interviewed Veronica a few years ago, shortly after the release of Uncreation. She was a hoot to talk to. Very animated, energetic, and fun.

Very, very cool news, guys and gals. This was a coup.

Trust me, she doesn't look masculine. I'll just leave it at that....and a helluva voice too!

I want to thank everyone for their well-wishes.

I echo the sentiment of most of these opinions. I have been working directly with Veronica for the booking of the band and she has been a dream to work with. Extremely fun to talk to and very kind and gracious, she has been a complete class act all the way. I think that getting Benedictum on this festival basically just "made it" as far as I'm concerned. I cannot wait to see their performance!

Also, there is sort of an unsung hero around here who has been doing as much work, if not more, on this festival than I have. Will Bobbie (BlackRoseMetalHeart) please stand up and take a bow? None of this would be possible without your passion, guidance and enthusiasm! This festival is as much yours as it is mine.

I sincerely hope that I will see some of you at our fine festival in June!

Regards to all,
Nathan

I had the pleasure of chatting with both her and her husband at CPF last year, and they were both extremely cool to hang out with. The record doesn't floor me, but they were very enjoyable live.

Nathan, this will be the true test of how hard we rock. I really do hope the fans will support us and come out to the show this summer! It was an amazing time last year. It will be an amazing time this year and I know you and I are already imagining the possibilities how we can raise the bar for next year's fest. :headbang:

Bobbie rocks. :headbang:
 I am speechless. Thank you, my metal brothers! :headbang:

Who cares what she looks like - this is one girl that can BLAST!! I love this band and I wish I could make the festival just to see them! Truly a great straight ahead heavy metal band - just like the glory days before labels became fashionable.
