Hey, since so many are either bitching about or are unfamiliar with many of the bands, I thought it would be cool for people to list their favorite albums from the bands scheduled for PP4. This way people can get a head start picking up the better material from each band. I for one am only really familiar with about half the bands, and I'm sure others could use the input as well.

Please commence.....

Symphony X - The Odyssey
Vanden Plas - Beyond Daylight
Everygrey - In Search Of Truth

Sorry, that's all of the bands I own. I'm probably not much help. Though for people interested in Vanden Plas, I'd suggest Spirit Of Live, and for Symphony X (the 1 or 2 of you), I'd suggest Live on The Edge of Forever.

Symphony X - V, The Odyssey, DWOT
Evergrey - In Search Of Truth, Recreation Day

these are essential albums IMO, but the following are also definitely worth owning:
Nightwish - Wishmaster
Secret Sphere - A Time Never Come
Vanden Plas - The God Thing
Pagan's Mind - Celestial Entrance
and the albums I need to get:
Mercenary - Everblack
Redemption - s/t

To first introduce someone to Nightwish would you give them Wishmaster or Oceanborn?

I would give them both, as I feel both the albums have a lot to showcase for the band. Wishmaster IMO is probably their best and Oceanborn just a notch below.

As for the other bands, well what can I add that hasn't been said...give them the latest releases and let them beg for more :).

Nightwish - Oceanborn/Wishmaster
Evergrey - Recreation Day
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Pagans Mind - Celestial Entrance
Rage - Unity/Black in Mind
Mercenary - Everblack
Vanden PLas - The God Thing
Secret Sphere - A Time Nevercome
Redemption - Have not heard them (only have one album)
Circle II Circle - Have not released album yet

Nightwish--Wishmaster first, Oceanborn second

Evergrey--It's really tough now. I'd pick up ISOT & Recreation Day at the same time.

Rage--Reflections of a Shadow, Trapped!, Unity, Black in Mind, and the all time best ever, Execution Guaranteed (okay, that was a bad joke. Sorry :p)

Symphony X--The standards everyone loves: V, Divine Wings, Odyssey

Pagan's Mind--Celestial Entrance

Circle II Circle - since their debut has yet to be released, there isn't a whole lot to choose from. I've hear four full songs from it, and I'd highly recommend purchasing it.

Evergrey - this a hard call. They're such a consistent band. If you're someone who has never heard them, I'd recommend "Search for Truth".

Mercenary - I, like most everyone else, would recommend "Everblack". It's their latest and their best.

Nightwish - I'm not a huge fan. I own "Wishmaster", and with the exception of "She is My Sin" I'm not impressed.

Pagan's Mind - get "Celestial Entrance". It is their 2nd CD and almost universally accepted as their best.

Redemption - similar to CIIC, they only have one CD out. I just picked it up but haven't had a chance to spin it.

Symphony X - another hard one to pick. To my ears, their two best CDs are "V: The new Mythology Suite" and "The Odyssey". Since they will be playing more stuff from "The Odyssey" live, than from "V", I'd suggest "The Odyssey".

Vanden Plas - my favorite by them is their latest, "Beyond Daylight". However, "A Far off Grace" and "The God Thing" are also very good.
