Best amateur drums recording room

Hi
I have to record a drums but I have not a studio or a treated room so I have to place the drums into the best room I can afford (w/o treatment).
Which features should the room have in terms of size, etc?
Which is the best placement for the drums?
Anyone has some good advice?

as large as possible (Volume) with dimensions that are not multiples... is a great start

rooms with dimensions such as these are not recommended... where dimensions have common divisors:

8 x 10 x 12
8 x 10 x 10
10 x 12 x 24

better rooms proportions:

1 : 1.14 : 1.39
1 : 1.28. 1.54
1 : 1.5 : 2.1
