Best keyboards? (the typing variety)

I've settled on picking up the Logitech MX1100 when I get the money (the Performance Mouse MX felt a bit too small for my hand, and is pricier anyway, just cuz of that darkfield technology hooha, for all those times you'll need to use it on a clear glass surface :goggly: )

EDIT: Actually, the Marathon Mouse M705 looks pretty cool too (I've read pretty scathing reviews about the MX 620 though, so I'd avoid that one)

I've currently got a Razer DeathAdder but it's never really fit my hand all that well. There are no grips on the side, so it's hard to lift and get a real handle on. It's stats are impressive, but that doesn't mean much when it cramps my hand really quick. Have they made any improvements with their shapes since? Their mice are a fair bit expensive.

I feel exactly the same about the razers, since I play CSS on a G5 and when Im round my mates he has a death adder funnily enough. It never sat right with me, I thought it was a bit "long" too. Very highly rated though. G5 and MX518 have a thumb grip and a little finger grip that your fingers will fall into without even thinking. G5 does have weight equipment as well (i expect you'll know about that though), which my mates laughed their arses off about first time they heard about it. Im not too bothered about them, but you can certainly feel huge difference when you change them. I saw some G5's going for £29.99 a while back- they used to be £49.99. Worth every penny though- mine is in snake skin fwiw:

One other cool thing I do with the mouse is set the whee's left and right as copy and paste, as they are buttons too.

I had a MX510 and 518 and they are awesome, but after 3 years of intensive use the mousewheel is sometimes hanging.. so I decided to buy a new one.
I ordered the G5 that kev posted, it looks nice, and... DOESNT WORK WITH OS X GODDAMNIT :heh:

I then wanted the Performance Mouse MX, but it's somehow ugly, and the price is ridiculous.
So I ended up with the Marathon Mouse and its super awesome. It's batteries are said to last 3 years and until now they're at 95%. I have the mouse 5 months now and I use it for hours every day. Never saw a cordless mouse this energy-saving. The mouse also feels great, has enough buttons for me. It's definately smaller than the performance/mx518/g5, though.
You can see the design and size in comparison (lots of pics) with the Performance Mouse and the MX1100 at some japanese site, so this should be pretty interesting for you Marcus:

Thanks for that dude, and yeah, honestly the 1100 always did look a bit bulky to me (but better that than the Performance Mouse MX, which made my thumb feel "pinched" in there), so I'm glad I've held off on buying one now that the Marathon has come out!

Well thanks for all the suggestions thus far. I think I'm fairly set on buying that Logitech keyboard, and I'm still sort of weighing up all the mouse options. At the moment it's between the Microsoft X8, Razer Mamba and whatever good cordless offering Logitech have.

I am so used to my G5 apple keyboard its silly. but the new laptop style chiclket ones are starting to win favour with me.
probably as i spend so long using my Macbook pro outside the studio.

My friend has a wireless/bluetooth version of the new Apple keyboards for sale, but are there any bluetooth cards to be had for PC? More importantly ones that won't cause any conflicts or noise issues within the PC?

I have the older wireless aluminium Apple keyboard which needs 3 batteries (current one runs with 2) and it's really good IMO. I kinda slightly regret that I didn't get the one with the wire instead though, as I'd prefer having a numpad too.

As far as mouses go, I really like my Performance Mouse MX. Fits my hand perfectly.

Careful Ermz, the wireless ones have no numeric keypad. Only the wired one is currently offered with the full keyboard.

For what it's worth I love my Apple keyboard as well, thing is great.

That MX518 is probably one of the most comfortable mice I've ever owned. I miss it a lot. I'm currently using a Microsoft SideWinder, and aside from the weight options, I can't stand it.

Yeah, no matter what I try, I can't not use this mouse... I also can't justify spending more than $30 on a mouse... just isn't worth it to me.

As far as keyboards go, the less bullshit, the better. Thats why I downgraded my keyboard a couple days ago to the MS 600... no frills, no BS... just what I need.

Oh yeh Ermz, I completely forgot to mention this dude- Microsoft are bringing out this new beasty very shortly. I believe pre-orders are open on amazon for it. Its called the Microsoft Arc and looks fab in lime and white:

(Looks like it may have the mac-esque keys)
