Pleasure to Kill may be the obvious choice, but it fuckin owns. Coma of Souls is probably second; the riffage and soloing for the most part is awesome but in some cases they seem sort of restraining themselves when compared to PTK.

I chose 'Coma of Souls' but it was a pretty close call to 'Pleasure To Kill' I think the better production helped me appreciate 'Coma...' better.

I think Pleasure to Kill is their second best I can see why alot of people likes it the most, but IMO I think Extreme Aggression has more attitude and feels more pissed off which I like about it. Pleasure to Kill is more death/thrashy and brutal.

I had to go with the majority here and pick PTK. If you liked the rawness of EP, it's still very much intact here, just in a darker, more brutal and frenzied form. But the three records that followed it are all quality technical, somewhat more polished thrash that's worth looking into sooner or later (even Terrible Certainty, whether or not it continues to receive no votes).

My long time favorite by them is also Pleasure to Kill.

I would recommend all of these:

Pleasure to Kill
Terrible Certainty
Extreme Aggression
Coma of Souls

Looks like Terrible Certainty hasn't been recommended at all, but I think it's a great album and higly recommend it as well.

I think Coma of Souls is their best, with Pleasure to Kill closely behind.

Terrible Certainty, Violent Revolution and Extreme Aggression are also great albums. Renewal is decent. I've heard a few tracks from the other albums, which range from good to average.

I would be interested to know - of those who hold Coma of Souls in such high esteem (yes, its a great album) - are/were you following the band in the 80's or are you looking at its greatness from a perspective of having all their early work being available to you, prior to hearing any of it? Just curious... :)

The first 5 Kreator recs are really "must owns".

I got Kreator's first five in order from earliest (Endless Pain) to latest (Coma of Souls).

Sure, Pleasure to Kill and even Endless Pain are heavier than Coma of Souls, but Coma of Souls wins because it has better riffs and solos, and more melody. Oh, and People of the Lie is Kreator's best song, imho.

Thanks for answering, as no one else had the balls to..

I like your style, working chronologicaly through. That way you don't have to wait a year or two between albums but that wait re-inforced my love for Extreme Aggression.:kickass:

Tbh, I thought Extreme Aggression was the weakest out of the first five, but it still kicks the shit out of anything they did after Coma of Souls. Yet again, I did enjoy Violent Revolution and Enemy of God though.
