I thought the early Wayne era was interesting and the first 2 records had some good songs, but Mike Howe just blew me away. I swore that this band was going to be huge, but it never happened. Blessing is by far my fav.

Blessing slightly over The Dark.

Just saw the new MC a couple weeks ago. Couldn't pass up going since it was just a couple miles from my pad and I scored 5 tickets for $10 from a guy in one of the opening bands.

Set list from the show:

Light in the Dark
Fake Healer
Ton of Bricks
Start the Fire
Leave Them Behind
Watch the Children Pray
Mirror of Lies
The Dark
Cradle to the Grave
Date With Poverty
Gods of Wrath
Badlands
Beyond the Black
Metal Church
Highway Star

Whoever said it's a myth is wrong as hell. Sample rates weren't anywhere near as good as they are now.
Uh... the sample rate of a cd has always been 44.1kHz. I believe it has more to do with the analog->digital conversion or some such crap. It's just that there's people who believe anything on a cd is always better than on a vinyl and naturally there's the opposing camp too. You don't want to get involved in those arguments... it's an inferno of diagrams and curves and has practically nothing to do with what sounds good and what doesn't.:erk:

Anyway, Metal Church rules.

The first one
I gave blessing in disguise 2 chances, and failed miserably.

I didn't want to say anything, but Blessing is the only one I own or am very familiar with, and I don't see what's so special about it. Run of the mill; stock. Not even as good as Persistence of Time. :p

I had to really think about this question. I decided to go with The Dark perhaps because its in the middle of two killer albums? They certainly had some magic in those days and I was struggling to chose between the first 3, however The Dark is full of adrenaline and good choruses plus its spinecrushingly heavy in the riff dept. and I like the guitar tone alot also.

Me too Steve. I honestly thought after BiD, Metal Church was going to take over the metal reighns from Metallica. Obviously it never happened, but to this day, that release is what all power/thrash releases are compared to in my ears. I would love to hear that remastered.
