Well, I bought an used Mesa Recto 2x12 and the guy told me that it's not been used much at all and always at low volume. The cab looks like a brand new one indeed! I'd like to ensure that the speakers are ok for the studio. I read some info about that but some are contradictory. Sneapy guitar gurus have certainly have good tips ;)

to break spakers, or to break-in speakers? :p

50 / 60 Hz ground noise for an hour through a clean amp, at increasing volume over 1-2 hours. Or a sine wave generator. (don´t overdo at the end! Speakers won´t take a lot more than 2mm of membrane movement).
That loosens the suspension and "corrects" the speaker´s parameters.

Then shred some hours, to get the membrane working in the higher frequencies as well. That should be fine

Thanks for the replies guys!

MrBongo: yeah, you got it :) I need to improve my english as well ahah!
