I think I only have one album that has been released in 2002 (metal or non-metal), as more or less all the shit I listen to is from before the 80's and it's Alberto Iglesias' score to "Talk to her"! It's also worthy of getting the nomination as it's a great album IMO.

RHCP- by the way and QOTSA- songs for the deaf are both great albums- i agree. They are about the only two new albums i've bought this year- the rest have all been older albums- got to update the back catalogue- so i'd have to say those two for this year.
