I need to explore this other than Cross Purposes. Cross Purposes I think is extremely good, so I'm guessing Tony Martin gets a little love here.

Poll is public

i love born again. great album, awful cover art. wish gillan would have stuck around for another alum or two. zero the hero is one of sabbaths best songs

the tony martin albums are wonderful. the best being cross purposes and eternal idol. headless cross and tyr are good as well, but weaker than the others

forbidden has some great tracks and some terrible stuff. the ice-t thing is bad, but people blew it up way more than it needed to be. he's on one song, not the whole album.

seventh star is bad. its an iommi solo rock record with glenn hughes.

Born Again. Great music, even if I don't like Ian Gillan's singing.

Seventh Star is also wonderful, but not as good and shouldn't have been called "Black Sabbath". The middle-eastern vibe on the title track rules.

Eternal Idol is only good when Ray Gillen is singing. Everyone should grab the demo version of this album with him singing, you will be glad you did.

Headless Cross, aside from When Death Calls and the title track, is abysmal. And that production sucks.

Tyr, aside from Anno Mundi which is possibly one of Sabbaths best songs, also sorta sucks.

Cross Purposes is a wonderful album, but not as good as Born Again to warrant being picked. And I really think Tony Martin was a horrible fit for Sabbath.

Forbidden sucks aside from Illusion of Power and Kiss of Death.

Cross Purposes is probably the best. Some weird moments that you either love/hate but very good album overall.

2nd best is Born Again. It's as dark as Ozzy albums, if not darker. Production is shit but you gotta love Gillian's vocals.

Then is's a tie between Tyr and Headless Cross, they are both good, not great, Headless Cross is more traditional but can get boring. Tyr was weird at first, but I like it eventually. I dig the Nordic atmosphere and the The Battle of Tyr/Odin's Court/Valhalla trilogy is cool.

Seventh Star is very 80's album, mix of heavy metal/AOR/hard rock, No Stranger To Love is incredibly cheesy but the rest is good for what it is.

The last two are The Eternal Idol and Forbidden. Both are quite bad, The Eternal Idol is probably better but its really uninteresting and I'd rather listen to Forbidden tbh. Oh, and the cover of Eternal Idol is absolutely terrible.

Born Again, up there with my favorite Ozzy-era albums, and Disturbing the Priest is my favorite Sabbath song. Headless Cross is great too.

Tony Martin is the best Black Sabbath vocalist, so it has to be one of his albums.

From a "best vocalist" standpoint:
Ray Gillen is more technically skilled, and Dio and Ozzy fit the band more.

Sorry to say but he fails both qualifiers for being "best Sabbath singer."

What about Nightwing?! That's the best tune on HC!

Disagreed.

Which is hilarious because I don't think Ozzy's is that great either, but just fit the music better than Martin I guess. Dio had the best voice of the three.
