"Square Nothing". The clean guitar parts are beautiful, and the heavy parts just kill.

"Spend some quality time, with a demon of mine, I like the way you struggle, but you know I'm here to win."

I voted Square nothing just because i think that is the best lyrics ever made by In flames. That song gives me goosebumps every time!

Satellites & Astronauts. very well written, good melodies, good solo, good lyrics.

Really love the lyrics to Satellites and Astronauts.
Probably my favorite full length from them. Love the upbeat sound. They found the perfect blend of simplicity, catchiness, beastly melodies, and awesomeness.

The title track, "Clayman". It´s just so amazing, the first In Flames song I heard and I still love it.
Some other great songs off of Clayman: Suburban me, Swim, Bullet Ride

it's a shame they won't play Suburban Me live. :(
that's what you get for letting a guitar masturbator record the solo for an awesome song :D
and with all due respect... neither Björn nor Jesper are above average when it comes to guitar skills

I would say way above average once you consider all the terrible guitar players who only have mastered the simplest riff off of "Smoke on the Water".
Only a small percentage are guitar gods, like Mike Amott etc.

I have found however, that I am finding great enjoyment in listening to what you would call "average" guitar players, like Kaoru (Dir en grey), Ola Flenning (Soilwork), Björn & Jesper (In Flames). I don´t find technical ability the greatest asset of a guitarplayer, I find that asset songwriting. I mainly listen to bands with... not exactly simple riffs, but more mid-stuff. I also enjoy stuff like Children of Decadence, by Bodom though.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it isn't the pure technical stuff that matters, I value songwriting & feeling higher. If you can make a kickass song with mid-hard riffs, then you're a pro aswell.

i agree i like mid hard guitaring thats sounds great than full scale arpeggios or something crazy that sounds just ok. i think you need to have that right sound to be a pro not just guitar skill a mix of both is perfect

i went with as the future repeats today. am i the only one who feels that only for the weak is extremely overrated?

OFTW, if only because it is the song that essentially got me into metal and In Flames. The first song I heard by the band, at a time when I considered metal dumb, and it totally changed my views. I love every song off this album, though.
