Best snare for metal??

I'm a big fan of brass tama snares, and wood gretsch snares. Brass snares I love for the "ping" and cutting power. Wood grestch's are amazing for giant thud and power.....

Really though, pretty much any reasonably priced snare will work. If the shell is molded correctly and isn't warped anything CAN work. It's more about the tuning and head selection that'll make all the difference.

I think the Pearl Ultracasts are awesome. Otherwise a 12x7 snare of some sort will give you a lot of sounds. I can get most sounds out of it.

Otherwise, properly learning how to tune and get different saids of drumheads works too

+1 for the gretsch wood snares

i was also really surprised by the pearl joey jordison sig for the price

if you can find a great sounding one for less, there's no need to spend 700 eu. on a snare

if you have a budget a mapex pro ms are pretty good if your in the uk talking headz in woburn sands is pretty much the best drum shop in the uk even though its tiny chris will treat you right

Having spent many a night of my childhood roaming the streets of Woburn Sands, I'm surprised anyone knows of this drum shop. Only went in once or twice, but my drummer goes here and seems to work alright for him.

Really weird place to have a drum shop imo.

Finally the durmmer buy this Snare, ver very fat and punchy sound. Is a SPAUN
