Not a metal guy really, but as I´m working on a project in the "Alternative Rock/Progressive Metal genre" I need to get some good references for heavily distorted guitars, as well as good productions (soundwise) in general.

Which Andy Sneap produced songs/albums should I look into?

Devildriver's The Last Kind Words is awesome if you're not into the classics mentioned above.

Using Testament's - For The Glory Of... as a reference, always make me want to shoot myself ahahahha!!!!!

Nevermore DHIADW, and Killswitch Engage The End Of Heartache

And my favourite song to reference is The River Dragon Has Come

But when I compare my finished mixes to these, I always end up deleting mine lol, so I prefer not to reference them much haha

I think the Arch Enemy record is great for reference when it comes to guitars and drums. Great separation in the overheads and clarity overall in the mix. Vocals dont sound that good, a bit dull and not great sounding... Sounds like a Sm7
