Less hi-hat, more bottom end and top. Still, a different sound all-together compared to a 57, so if you're used to working with that, it might be a little ?? at first. I know it was for me..
I use the M201 all the time as an under snare mic with a 57 on the top. The M201 works really well on the under snare. I haven't tried the M201 as a top snare mic or a 57 as an under snare mic... I should give it a go next time I track drums.
