BFD Hihats?? + EvilDrums question

Why BFD does not play open hats? i've tried different mappings,
made my own drummap with 1/4 3/4 & open hats,but they are all the same
closed hat.
I quickly found a workaround using cc midi automation,but...
is it really the only way to have open and closed hats???

SD2 and all expansions sound somewhat the same to me.somewhat fake,
think of EZDrummer...
but there's Evil Drums Joe Barresi pack - which exists in both SD and BFD formats.does it sound the same in SD2 and BFD?

I doubt anyone has both of them though...

BFD1 or BFD2?

BFD *does* play open hi-hats. You've probably got some setting you need to adjust in the keymap section.

Yeah, Evil Drums is great - doesn't matter if you use BFD or SD2.0, same samples.

Which settings? I've assigned all artics.
it plays all of them,only closed,or if I fiddle with variable zone slider it becomes always open.

Turn off the 'all hi-hats variable' setting in the preference, then try triggering a note assigned to the open tip or open shank articulation.

a bit strange default setting I must say.
Addictive Drums were easier to start with.

The default setting is with that mode OFF; you must have enabled it at some point
