Biff's age?

It's only a guess....he's probably 50, 52 by now? I'm not sure.

Who cares? Biff is a brilliant singer and obviiously a great person.

What age got to do with music anyway, Rob Halford just turned 50 (25th of August) and he is still alive and kicking. His two latest albums (Recurrection and Live Insurrection are great!!)

Freewheeler, I think Bajen Patte was just interested in Biff's age generally, I don't think he was thinking of a connection between his age and his singing or stage performance ;)

Hello Female Rocker, I wasn't picking on Bajen Patte (even if it might look that way, if so sorry Bajen :( !).

I just get tired on the focus on many artists age instead of their creativity .
Many older Heavy Metalbands such as Judas Priest and Saxon are still alive and kicking but many people consider these artists just "desperate and afraid of aging (afraid of quiting)".
BUT why should any artist quit if he/she feels that the creative flame is still within them...?

Take care!

...Thanks for the answer.
I'm obviously a huge fan of Saxon (the greatest band there is in my opinion) so I'm certainly not picking on Biff's age, he's only getting better and better...And I sure as hell don't want him or the band to quit.
I was just wondering how old he might be after a discussion with some metalheads as the band has been around for a long time and still going strong. Impressive!
Usually when I tell older metalheads that Saxon are still going strong and are better than ever most get surprised as unfortunately you don't hear that much about Saxon here in Sweden if you don't look for it.

Biff is nealy 50 (was born in 15th/Jan/1952)

I'm Japanese Saxon fan & record collector since '80.
I just remember this informatin from "Music Life" on July/'81 which world famouse Japanese Music Magazine.
I don't care that Biff's age.
He always keep on Rock'n with Us !

i agree who gives a @#%$ how old biff is or how old any body is in a band biff is writing singing and performing better now than he was years ago and even then the man was a god
thank god saxon are still making albums thats all i can say
there music is outstanding and they show other heavy metal bands how to write and perform real great true rock songs
without saxon we would be lost keep the albums coming saxon cause we need your music its something very special
it might be hard for you saxon to see it that way but trust me from a fans point of view you are No 1 and we really do need your music

The biography section of this site mentions that Biff was 26 years old when the first incarnation of Saxon (Son of a Bitch)was formed in 1976. That would make him about 51-52 now. I agree that age has no bearing whatsoever. There are a lot of great metal/hard rock heroes out there who are approaching or are in their 50's. That means nothing. The important thing is that they continue to create great music and show the younger bands how it's done. Biff and Saxon are masters at doing this and should be appreciated for it. I'll get off of my soap box now.

...I just wanna make it clear once again that my question about Biff's age has nothing to do with the quality of the band. They are the greatest band there is!
It was just out of curiousity, after a discussion, as they have been around for some time - which is great.
I totally agree hoping Saxon will keep rocking as we need their music.
I can't wait for the new album and I sure hope I'll get the chance to see them again sometime in the near future!

BajenPatte, for the record, I did not interpret your question as a slam against Biff or Saxon. Your second post should clarify to everyone where your coming from. However, your post and some of the responses provided a great opportunity for me to sound off about those who believe metal/hard rock is only meant for people in a certain age group. That seems to be a problem here in the states. To me, it's obvious by the state of the heavy music scene here that the younger "metal" fans haven't clue one what real/true heavy metal is or sounds like. Take care and keep rockin in Sweden. Oh yeh, God bless Hammerfall!
