Björn vs. Daniel

Who do you think is a better drummer or who's drumming do you like more?

I personally like Björn's drumming a lot more than Daniels. I could get into the drumming from The Jester Race and Whoracle more than the last three albums. Björn seemed more diverse is his drumming.

bjorn just isnt a drummer. his drumming is effective, but very simple. daniel is a real drummer, ive never heard him screw up, hes tight, and hes better than bjorn. you cant really compare the two

its like saying, whos the better guitar player, bjorn or daniel? (ive seen daniel playing guitar in some in flames studio pics)

You have to think that Björn probably still writes all of the drum stuff, or at least most of it. Björn seemed more broad in his playing to me. I've never seen Björn play live, but I have seen Daniel play live (never in person, just on bootlegs) and he doesn't seem relaxed in his playing and it's just annoying to me. While he may be a good drummer, I find Björn's drumming on The Jester Race and Whoracle more satisfying.

On the last three albums, Jesper and Björn have written all the original music. They're both drummers, though, so I don't know, but I'd imagine that they both are involved in writing drum parts. Daniel probably changes them a little bit, but he isn't the original writer of the drum parts.

Well, of course I know about basic song structures and all of that. Just seeing as Jesper and Björn are drummers theirselves, it would be logical to say that they both come up with basic drum structures and Daniel can work on it and style it on his own. I guess I should have worded it differently, but I was just saying that both of them probably come up with he first drum beats. Mikael from Opeth comes up with the drum beats himself on a drum machine, I believe. It even says that the music is written by Jesper and Björn and arranged by In Flames. We'll never know though.

I think Daniel is far better. I think because it is a bit obvious that Daniel doesnt play guitar and Bjorn doesn't. haha. later \m/

Bjorns drumming went well with the style that In Flames played back then, but since then Daniel suits it better.

Daniel is a way better drummer. The drumming is actually the weak point on Whoracle and Jester Race. Too bad the guitar parts and singing got worse and worse since Whoracle.

Daniel is definitely the better drummer (listen to Clayman god damn...), but you shouldn't forget Björn's drumming on Lord Hypnos which sounds (atleast to me) very good...
