I think I asked this a while back but can y'all tell me what album TRASHED is on? I used to have it on a compilation years ago and it's been in my head again for some reason. I'd love to find it. I believe it's Gillan on vox.

It's on Born Again. Opening tune. You may find/remember that you like the whole album, if you're anything like me and a few other members here. A classic in my eyes.

It was the best song on Born Again (My Opinion..)
And the crazy thing is they never did it live....I have quite a few bootlegs from that tour and it's not on any of them....I'd like to know why...

Sidenote: Ian Gillan was a MUCH better singer in Sabbath than he gave himself credit for!!!

back in the day i wasnt a die hard Sabbath fan (i just had the DIo albums )but the first time i heard trashed.. i bought Born Again. That song was awesome

"Born Again", A-side of the vinyl or first track of the CD :D

One of the most metal Sabbath songs ever, fast, heavy, crunchy. The video was pretty funny too.

I had the headlights blazing I was really alive
And yet my mind was blowing
I drank a bottle of tequila and I feel real good
I had the tape deck roaring

I agree 100% with that assestment. He always put himself down regarding BS, and his vocals and lyrics are awsome. A highly underrated album in their discography.

It took a while for Born Again to grow on me, but I've really come to recognize it as a great disk. Definately a different sound than on any other Sabbath album.

On That tour, that was the first time i seen Black Sabbath. Man what a show, when they came out & did Smoke on the water for an encore, the crowd was screaming. I remeber it was Halloween that night too!!!

Screaming in rage? Every time that story gets retold it gets slammed :Spin: Say what you want world, but that's one of those historical things I wish I could've been on hand to witness...
There's a bootleg floating around of that show, ne?

Though I prefer DIo and Martin era Sabbath above all, Sabbath only made one "bad" disc and it wasn't ith Gillian. "Trashed" actually was the first non Ozzy Sabbath I heard. It wasn't long after that I discovered the DIo era though.

Awesome album...great song and video. The guy driving the hearse/ambulance or whatever it was cracks me up. And the scream that Ian Gillan does at the end of the song when he says "Oh bless my soul!!!!!!!!!l" is fucking AMAZING...

Kick ass stuff, brings back some memories of cutting school and getting trashed and jamming out...

I don't think Gillan thought he sang bad on the record, he just hated the record, period. There is an actual quote that goes something like this..."I heard the record and I puked. I saw the cover and I puked again." I think, but am not sure, that they even printed this quote in the liner notes of the remaster. I have it, but will have to check when I get home.

Anyway, that's a damned shame really, 'cause that is one heavy, GREAT record. Completely different from anything Sabbath did before (or after) in ways, and just plain murky, dark, forboding, and even touching in places (title track). Anyway, Born Again owns. Oh, and I do like the cover.

Man, i thought the cover was pretty evil . Just what you want from a Sabbath record right??

That quote's in there indeed, along with the allegation that Gillan only did Sabbath for the money...but then again, there's quotes from Gillan saying how much he enjoyed the experience. So, depends who you ask I guess! :D
