Black Sabbath song, "Trashed"

I don't think Gillan thought he sang bad on the record, he just hated the record, period. There is an actual quote that goes something like this..."I heard the record and I puked. I saw the cover and I puked again." I think, but am not sure, that they even printed this quote in the liner notes of the remaster. I have it, but will have to check when I get home.

If you check the Black Sabbath Story videos when they interview Gillan he says in a very joyfully way that he was the worst singer Sabbath ever had.
I believe he felt he was inadequate for the gloom expected for a BS singer, to me that's kind of unreal since Dio printed his own signature without trying to copy Ozzy, so Gillan could have been himself and not trying to fill anyone's shoes.

In anycase we all agree is a great underrated album and the cover....
I walked in the day into the bus with the vinyl in my hand, risen a lot of eyebrows (especially when the bus stop was in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral  )

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my appreciation of Born Again, one of Black Sabbath's finest albums. Most people hate it solely because:
a) Ozzy's not the singer
b) Dio's not the singer
c) They think the cover is lame (well, I'll agree with that one)
True, the albums is not nearly as good as Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Heaven and Hell, but still a good album. Also Ian Gillan does some before-its-time black metal shrieking on some tracks.

I disagree about the cover I love it, but I brought some fuel for the pyre

DM cover is fom 1981, BS is from 1983.

Holy Shit, Wyvern, are you serious? Those similarities are just a little too obvious. I wonder if there was any copyright infringement there? Probably not, since Sabbath was on a major label. They probably bought rights to the original wailing baby drawing that Depeche Mode used for their cover, but altered it to make a demonic baby. Heard any backstory on this, Wyvern?

I can't say Born Again is one of my favorite covers of all time, but it never struck me as bad. At least it wasn't a cheesy studio shot of the band abusing spandex and hairspray.
