EDIT!!!!!!!: Requested clip with more low end.http://www.mp3lizard.com/download.cfm?id=26731

Some random riffage and some slightly humerous/embarassing fail added right at the very end for your enjoyment

Put the GT-OD in front, kept the volume unison brought the gain up to about 8-9 o clock and had the tone set about 1-2 o clock.

Now considering I had the gayne almost full tilt on my amp and was adding more from the GT-OD the EMG sounds clear and punchy I think you really need to gain these pickups out for them to really "come to life" if ya know whaddimean? You can hear the almost metallic toane of them in the palm m00tz and p0wer chords.

Sounds quite "KSE" to my ears.

I've heard people dismissing the Blackstar as a loose blues amp or something similar and I'd have to say that they're dead wrong. The ISF control allows you to get your mids pretty much where you want them for a nice metal voicing, and there's enough gain on tap, but it takes pedals VERY well both out front and in the loop.

Anyway, hope this clip opens some eyes.

(apologies for the somewhat sloppy playing:))

Crap, I can't listen at work right now.

I will say that all the clips I've heard of the HT-5 have been pretty awesome! Gets pretty chunky with a boost I bet.

Loose blues amp?? From what I've read and heard it's hot rodded British style gain!

Well I'll say this, it's tight and has a pretty cool crunch, but "chunky" is about the last word I'd use to describe it  Crank up some ballsy bass and try again man! What cab and mic did you use, btw?

Check out the youtube clips of the amp. There are a few clips that sound ridiculously chunky through an Orange 2x12.

Hey gimme a break it was minutes to midnight when I recorded it :D I had the bass on 3.5 mids on 6.5 and treble on 8 :(.

Don't think the lady downstairs would appreciate the low end at those kind of times :D

I'll try n do another one now though with the bass higher.

I think adding a bass guitar would be better though, but I don't have one lol.

Okay heres a clip with a little more bass. Was turned up louder too.

Better or worse?

Oh yeah sorry metalstatic forgot to answer your question.

It's a Marshall Vintage Modern cab with G12Cs (basically "exclusive" greenbacks modified for better "hendrix" tone. Probably would have sounded meaner with V30s.) recorded with a sennheiser e906 with the switch on the default (classic/middle) position into an Edirol UA-25. The mic was pretty much center speaker, maybe a centimeter or two off.

its very tight and clean sounding, as youd expect from such a guitar, a tad thin sounding, but very nice guitar tone none the less deffo got that crunch id want from the blackstar, infact a bit too extreme for what id use it for!

thanks for the post

No probs dude

It doesn't usually sound this extreme

I've got another clip which is a little more laid back done with a Schecter Hollywood classic with a custom custom in the bridge.

Here it is : http://www.mp3lizard.com/download.cfm?id=26723

Sounds good man! Cool crunch going on there.

Cheers man :D
