I remember listening to Rush's new album, Vapor Trails, and then a good time later I experienced Blackwater Park... and for some reason, BWP always reminded me of Vapor Trails. Maybe it was the chorus-like section at the end of The Funeral Portrait, or something else... My copy of Vapor Trails has been "missing" for a very long time so I can't even go back to figure it out. Has anyone else experienced this kind of feeling between the two albums?

Sure. Every once in a while I catch a bit of a Rush vibe in an Opeth song...and some Abba...

Well Abba I would understand, since they have similar parts in The Moor, but this Rush thing I couldn't put my finger on... then again, I haven't heard -too- much Rush. Just Chronicles, and Vapor Trails... the new stuff like Snakes & Arrows doesn't really interest me too much.

Did the band ever say if there was a Rush influence?
